Carol L. (Hood) Kromer Hemker, 84, of Bellevue, passed away May 30, 2023 peacefully at her beloved home following a hard fought battle with cancer. She fought this battle with the loving care of her six children who never left her side.
She was born November 20, 1938 in Norwalk, Ohio to the late William Norman and Kathryn Lucille (Reigle) Hood.
She was a 1956 graduate of Sandusky High School. Carol was a stay-at-home mom for many years. She later worked at TransTec in Milan and Walmart in Sandusky. Carol was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church. Carol's life revolved around her family. She was the matriarch and her most beloved titles were, Mom, Grandma and before she was called home, she was so proud and elated to become a Great-Grandmother.
Carol is survived by her and Albert's six children; Anastasia "Stacey" (Patrick) Russell, Terrance (Suzy) Kromer, Martha (Willard) Dyer, Kathryn (John) Cullis, Melinda (Dave Gilbert) Kromer, and Scott (Rhonda) Kromer; 19 grandchildren and one great grandson; Daniel's children, her bonus family, Lauri (Craig) Hohler, Charles (Lisa) Hemker, Amy (Dean) Sampsell, Jodi (Tracy) Ohm and Patti (Eugene) Couture and 13 grandchildren.
Including her parents, she is preceded in death by her first husband, Albert C. Kromer; her second husband, Daniel S. Hemker; her brothers George and Sam Hood and her great granddaughter, Genevieve Brown.
Family and friends may call, Friday, June 2, 2023 at Toft Funeral Home and Crematory 2001 Columbus Ave. Sandusky, Ohio 44870 from 4pm until the time of the Rosary Service at 7pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10am on Saturday, June 3, 2023 at Holy Angels Catholic Church, 428 Tiffin Ave., Sandusky, Ohio 44870. Burial will follow at St. Anthony's Cemetery, Milan.
