Rev. William Owens age 77 of Clyde passed away at Elmwood at The Springs, Green Springs. The journey that began on April 1st 1935, ended Thursday, April 26th 2012 at 5:50 PM. From the premature baby, that grew into the man that we all knew a William "Bill" Owens.
To all that knew Bill, they knew the love that he had for his God, his wife, his family and his friends. Bill was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Frances "Fran" Owens and his eldest son Terry. He was also preceded by his parents Laymon Gregory and Mary Belle Owens, and many brothers and sisters.
Bill is survived by his son Dennis and Jennifer Owens and their two children, Amanda Cooper and Parker Owens. He is also survived by his sisters Pat Hamlin and Linda Stanley, and his brother Jack Wayne Owens, and many nieces and nephews.
Bill worked for Ford Motor Company in Sandusky, Ohio, until he received a higher calling into full time ministry. Beginning in 1978, Pastor Bill became the full time pastor at Milan Baptist Church; he served in that position for eleven years. The next eleven years was spent as full time pastor at First Baptist Church of Clyde. Pastor Bill retired in 2000 from the church and in 2012 from this world to be in the presences of God.
A celebration of life service will be held on Saturday May 19th 2012 at 4:00 PM at the Foos Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 504 E. McPherson Hwy., Clyde
