Raymona Anderson, 85, residing in Sandusky, passed away Thursday, June 8, 2023 at Parkvue Health Care Center, Sandusky, after a brief illness.
She was born on March 12, 1938 in Fremont, Ohio to the late Clarence and Margaret (Cunningham) Cooper.
She was a 1956 graduate of Fremont Ross High School. She attended Bowling Green State University, where she was a member of Alpha Phi Sorority; receiving her B.S. Degree in 1960 and her Master's Degree in 1975. She taught elementary grades in Clyde, OH, and Fort Leonard Wood, MO, returning to Ohio to teach in the Perkins Schools at Briar, Furry and Perkins High School where she was Dean of Students and at Furry Elementary where she served as Principal from 1982 until her retirement in 1994.
She was a member of Grace Episcopal Church, Children of the American Revolution and was a descendent of the War of 1812. In her spare time, she enjoyed reading, sewing, needlepoint, taking walks and spending time with family and friends.
She is survived by her daughters, Stacey C. (Mark) Dickman of Louisville, KY, Amy L. (Bruce) Wasem of Huron, OH; son, Brian P. (Tamara) Anderson of Sandusky, OH; eight grandchildren, Christopher, Aaron, Bradley and Raymond Dickman, Anthony and Christiana Wasem, Derrick Anderson and Anna Thorn; six great-grandchildren, Ava, Roman, Emery, Raelynn, Brady Dickman and Sophia Wasem; and many friends in Ohio and Arizona where she and her husband spent many retirement winters.
In addition to her parents Clarence R. and Margaret D. Cooper of Fremont, Ohio, Raymona is preceded in death by husband, Paul S. Anderson, Jr., in 2021.
Private family services will be held and conducted at the Meadow Green Memorial Park Mausoleum, Huron, OH with Fr. Seth Wymer of Grace Episcopal Church presiding.
