Thomas J. "Tom" Knudsen, 72, of Sandusky, passed away on Friday, April 27, 2012 in Firelands Regional Medical Center, Sandusky.
Tom was born on November 2, 1939 in Beresford, South Dakota.
He was a veteran of the United States Army, and worked as a carpenter; retiring from Cabinet Makers in 2005.
Tom was a member of the Sandusky American Legion Post 83 for 43 years, and a member and Past-President of the Erie County Conservation League. He enjoyed walks at Sheldon's Marsh, carpentry, feeding the squirrels at his home, gardening and landscaping, and especially spending time with his family and grandchildren.
Tom is survived by his wife, Judy (Renninger) Knudsen, whom he married on January 28, 1967; sons, Steve (Christy) Knudsen, Bellevue and Scott Knudsen, Sandusky; grandchildren, Tony, Tara, Ethan, and Emma; sister, Helen Kowalski; and brother, Paul Knudsen.
He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Vivian (Putnam) Knudsen; maternal and paternal grandparents; and sisters, Mary Swanson and Reta Tidblom.
Friends may call on Wednesday, May 2, 2012 from 4 P.M. until time of funeral services at 6 P.M. at Toft Funeral Home & Crematory, 2001 Columbus Ave., Sandusky. Deacon Jack Busam will officiate.
