Thomas "Tom" R. White, 79, of Sandusky, passed away peacefully in his sleep on Saturday, July 1, 2023 at the Ohio Veterans Home.
He was born on September 9, 1943 in Port Clinton to Milton T. White, Jr. and Helen (Zeck) Cozzie.
Tom graduated from Port Clinton High School in 1961. He was a veteran of the Army who proudly served his country from October 2, 1961 to September 23, 1964. He was a mechanic at his family-owned Front End Shop, and also worked at Cedar Lanes and Sandusky Alignment. He was a member of AMVETS Post 17, VFW Post 2529, and Huron Eagles. In his spare time, he enjoyed the Ohio State Buckeyes, Cleveland Indians, NASCAR, euchre, working outside, and spending time with friends and family,
Tom is survived by his daughter, Tami (Rick Sullivan) Fields, of Sandusky; son, Tom A. White, of Sandusky; grandchildren, Evan and Hanna, both of Sandusky; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
In addition to his parents, Tom was preceded in death by his companion of 32 years, Virginia "Peggy" Lucas; brothers, Milton "Mick", Ted, Richard "Dick", Jerold "Jerry", James "Jim", John, and Stephen; and his beloved cat, Blue.
Friends may call on Friday, July 7 from 11 A.M. to 12 P.M. at Toft Funeral Home & Crematory, 2001 Columbus Ave., Sandusky. Services will begin at 12 P.M. The celebration of Tom's life will continue after the services at Twisted 3 in Sandusky.
