Vera Adele (Collins) Moore, 83, of New London, passed away Tuesday, July 4, 2023 at the Laurels of New London after a brief illness.
She was born January 21, 1940 in Knox County, Kentucky to Wayne and Patsy (Lawson) Collins.
Vera was employed at Bettcher Industries, Goodwill, and Green Circle Growers. In her spare time, she enjoyed time in her garden, listening to Bluegrass and spending time with all her doodlebugs. Most off all she loved her family and spending time with them.
She is survived by her son, Bobby (Sarah) Smith, daughter, Teresa (Randy) Ronez, son, Alan (Pam) Smith, daughter, Tammy (Fritz) Kuenzel; sister, Beloise Collins; brothers, James and Herman Collins; stepsons, Mark (Beth), Terry (Cindy), Mike (Kim), and Jon Moore; stepdaughter, Carolee (Kevin) Bookless; 9 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
In addition to her parents, Vera was preceded in death by her husband, Ron Moore; stepson, Wesley Moore; brothers, Lesley and Loxley Collins; and sisters, Mabel Golden, Garnet Brown, Ruby Hampton, Ruth Marcum, Jewel Lee, and Havana Butler.
Friends may call Thursday, July 6, 2023 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Toft Funeral Home, Wakeman Chapel, 16 Cooper St., Wakeman. Funeral services will be held on Friday at 11:00 am at the funeral home with Mel Sayler presiding. Burial will follow in Wakeman Cemetery.
