Ruby (Sibert) Batesole, 91, residing in Sandusky, passed away Friday, July 7, 2023 at home after a lengthy illness.
Ruby was born on October 19, 1931 in Sibert, KY to the late Daniel and Harriet (Hensley) Sibert.
Ruby moved to Sandusky and was a graduate of Sandusky High School. She went to work at Sandusky Folding Box where she was the Secretary of Benefits for the Union Recording-Secretary until retirement. It was there where she met three of her lifelong friends, Angie Sprow Allan, Aldeana Hatton and Patti Brown. Ruby was a member of Holy Angels Catholic Church in Sandusky. In her spare time, she enjoyed shopping as well as golfing and traveling with her husband, Jerry. Ruby also loved spending time with her grandchildren, and was especially thankful for all of the care her grandson Cody showed over the past few years.
Ruby is survived by her husband, Gerald R. Batesole, whom she married on June 5, 1971. She is also survived by her daughter, Joan (Verlus) Herzog of St Mary's, OH; step-daughters, Debra (Patrick) Carpenter of Elyria, OH, Teresa (Gregg) Newness of Norton, OH and Tammy (Mike) Young of Amherst, OH; step-sons, Gerald (Patricia) Batesole of Pickerton, OH, Richard (Sandy) Batesole of Avon Lake, OH and Robert Batesole of Amherst, OH; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; sister, Myrtle Tucker of Bayview, OH; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
In addition to her parents, Ruby is preceded in death by her son, Daniel Steele; four sisters; and five brothers.
Friends may call on Thursday, July 13, 2023 from 10:00 am until the time of funeral services at 11:00 am Groff Funeral Homes & Crematory, 1607 E Perkins Ave, Sandusky. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Sandusky, OH.
