Kay Irene (Gilmor) Frankart Herbig, 82, of Green Springs, Ohio died at The Willows of Bellevue on Sunday, July 9, 2023.
Kay was born in Fremont on October 1, 1940 to the now deceased Leona (Hade) and Earnest "Bill" Gillmor.
She was a 1958 graduate of Old Fort High School.
Mrs. Herbig was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Clyde, as well as the Seneca County Farm Bureau. Formerly, she had be a Little League Coach in Green Springs. She enjoyed traveling, camping, sewing and anything to do outside!
On June 5, 1958, she married Michael Frankart. They were married 37 years and farmed together. Mike died on April 26, 1995.
In February 1997, she married Paul Herbig, and for nine years they shared their lives. Paul died on July 24, 2006.
Survivors of Kay, include daughter-in-law, Carrie Frankart of Clyde; daughters, Becky (Gene) Cook of Clyde; Kim (Tony) Miller of Green Springs; and Mary Herr of Green Springs; and son, Bill (Janet) Frankart of Clyde. Thirteen grandchildren, Cassandra Frankart, Christopher Frankart; Jason Cook, Kevin Cook, Adam Cook; Jordan Miller, Dustin Miller; Megan Knierieman, Nathan Herr, Emily Massie; Zachary Frankart, Brady Frankart and Kayla Frankart survive, along with 21 great grandchildren. Kay's surviving siblings, include Sharon (Gene) Hasselbach of Fremont; Sue Byrne of Fremont and Pete (Char) Gillmor of Clyde. Also, a sister-in-law, Bev Gillmor of Old Fort survives.
Kay was preceded in death by a son, Tim Frankart, and three brothers, Harold ("Bud") Gillmor and his wife, Phyllis; Rick Gillmor and Rod Gilmor. Her brother-in-law, Dave Byrne is also deceased.
Visitation will be on Tuesday, July 11, 2023 from 3:00 pm-8:00 pm at Mitchell-Auxter Funeral Home, 218 South Main St., Clyde, Ohio. The funeral will be on Wednesday, July 12, 2023 at 10:30 am at the funeral home with Deacon Jose Zamora officiating. Burial will be in Lay-Butternut Ridge Cemetery.
