Kathleen Elizabeth Rudiger, 91, went to be with her Lord on July 8, 2023 at the Commons of Providence.
She was born Mar. 25, 1932 to John and Edith B. (Wachman) Rudiger in Sandusky.
A 1950 graduate of Sandusky High School, Kathleen was an elementary school teacher in the Perkins Public Schools from 1959-1992. She obtained her Bachelor's degree from Bowling Green State University and Master's degree from the University of Toledo.
Kathleen loved gardening, sewing, quilting, craft shows, collecting Hummels, traveling with friends and family, playing cards, walking in nature, and spoiling her seven nieces and nephews. She was a busy volunteer in the community. She was a lifelong member of St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church of Union Corners. As a church member, she cared for the church's flower beds for many years, made quilts through the Women of the Church group for Lutheran World Relief, and was a member of the Church Scholarship Committee for 37 years. She enjoyed remaining in touch with her fellow teachers after retirement.
She is survived by her nieces and nephews, Barbi (Rob) Erskine, Danielle Hoppes, Jacquelyn Kiether, Jamie (Don) Kosanka, Michelle (Mark) Zelesky, Jeffrey (Mary Lou) Rudiger, and William Kiether; along with great- and great-great nieces and nephews.
Kathleen was preceded in death by her parents; and siblings, Kent, John, and Joyce.
Friends may call on Sat., July 15, 2023 from 10 A.M. until time of funeral services at 11 A.M. in Zion Lutheran Church, 503 Columbus Ave., Sandusky. Rev. Philip Gardner will officiate. Burial will follow in Oakland Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, Kathleen requested memorial donations be made to St. John's Lutheran Church, 106 Scheid Rd., Sandusky, OH, 44870 or a charity of choice.
