David A. O'Doherty, 92, Vermilion, passed away Thursday, July 13, 2023, in the Kingston of Vermilion.
He was born on January 13, 1931 in Melrose, Massachusetts to the late John and Lucy O'Doherty, and was a member of the Army reserves.
He graduated from Stoneham High School, where he was captain of the hockey team where they played in the state championship in the Boston Gardens.
He retired after many years as the labor representative for Ford Motor Company.
He was an avid sports fan and golfer, loved follow horse racing, and was an expert at the Black Jack table.
He is survived by several nieces and nephews in this area and in the Boston, MA area.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Ilah (Lang) O'Doherty in 2012; parents; sister, Lucy Ann Fayle; brother, Duane O'Doherty; step daughter, Ilah Ann Christofel ; and step son, Jack Bright.
Friends may call on Friday, July 21, 2023, from 11 A.M. until time of a memorial service at 11:30 A.M. in Toft Funeral Home & Crematory, 2001 Columbus Ave., Sandusky. Rev. Philip Feltman will officiate.
