Rita Biecheler, 74, residing in Sandusky, passed away Thursday evening, July 20, 2023 at Stein Hospice after a lengthy illness.
Rita was born on December 2, 1948, in Fayette County, Ohio, to the late Charles and Bina (Spangler) Woodrow-Fast.
She retired from the Erie County Care Facility as a registered dietitian following many years of service.
In her spare time, she enjoyed crafts, cross stitch, reading, cooking, baking, flowers, gardening and spending time with her family and friends.
She is survived by her son, Travis James Biecheler, Sandusky; stepson, John Joseph (Missy) Biecheler of West Virginia; 11 grandchildren; three sisters, Daisy (Steve) Shiltz, Washington Court House, OH, Wanda Coil, Washington Court House, OH and Linda Hartsaugh, Circleville, OH; two brothers, John (Carla) Woodrow, and Ralph (Toni) Fast, both of Washington Court House, OH; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
In addition to her parents, Rita is preceded in death by husband, John D. Biecheler in 2013; her stepfather Ralph Fast; and one sister in infancy, Pamela Woodrow.
Friends may call on Wednesday, July 26, from 11 a.m. until time of services at 12 p.m. at Groff Funeral Homes & Crematory, 1607 E Perkins Ave., Sandusky with Pastor Wally Gilbert presiding. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Sandusky.
