David Vogel

David Vogel, 87, of Bellevue passed away in his home surrounded by his family on Friday, July 28, 2023. He was born July 16, 1936 in Bellevue, the son of Dr. Edward and Margaret (Ruffing) Vogel.

David was a graduate of Bellevue High School. After graduation he attended the University of Cincinnati and graduated the College of Pharmacy. Dave then returned to Bellevue and operated Vogel's Pharmacy as well as serving as the Director of Pharmacy at The Bellevue Hospital.

Throughout his life, Dave was very involved in the community and his church. He was a member of Immaculate Conception Church and served as School Board Council President as well as on the finance committee. He was member of the Knights of Columbus and Past Faithful Navigator 4th degree Knight. Dave was the last living charter member of the Rotary Club of Bellevue, a Past President as well as a charter Paul Harris Fellow. He also served as President of the Bellevue Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors.

Dave is survived by his loving wife, Mary Elaine (Schrickel) Vogel, whom he married June 17, 1961, at St. Mary's Church in Clyde. Along with their four children: Jennifer (Larry) Meyer, Heidi (John) Lambert, Marian (David) Fletcher, and Lauren (Adam) Turner; grandchildren: Shane Meyer, Stephanie Young, Lauren Watson, Hallie Davis, Abby Howell, Anna Fletcher, Jack Fletcher, Sam Fletcher, Jacqueline Dendinger, Gabrielle Turner, Sophia Turner, Katelyn Turner, and Ava Turner; and 11 great grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, David is preceded in death by twin sons, in infancy; grandson, Joel Meyer; and brothers, Dr. Edward Vogel and James Vogel.

Friends will be received on Friday, August 4, 2023, from 5-8 p.m. at Foos & Foos Funeral Service, 151 Yorkshire Place, Bellevue where the Rosary will be recited at 4:30 p.m.; Knights of Columbus Chalice Ceremony and Presentation will begin at 7:45 p.m. A funeral Mass will begin at 11 a.m. on Saturday at Immaculate Conception Church, 231 E. Center Street, Bellevue. Burial will follow at Bellevue Catholic Cemetery.
