Wilton Ora Johnson, Sr., 91, a resident of the Ohio Veterans Home in Sandusky, passed away Thursday, July 27, 2023 at his residence.
He was born September 8, 1931 in Hodgenville, Kentucky to Nathan and Alice (Coakley) Johnson.
He was a veteran of the Army who proudly served his country during the Korean War. He was self-employed for his cleaning company, Johnson Janitorial. He was a deacon in his local church. In his spare time, he enjoyed fishing, hunting, cooking, and singing. He loved time spent with family and friends the most.
Wilton is survived by his daughter, Karen (Alvin) Edwards, of Fern Creek, KY; son, Wilton O. (Nancy) Johnson, Jr., of Akron; and numerous other relatives.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Helen (Orndorff) Johnson.
Visitation will be on Thursday, August 3 from 9:30 A.M. until military funeral services begin at 10 A.M. at the Ohio Veterans Home, Giffin Chapel, 3416 Columbus Ave., Sandusky. Burial will be at the Ohio Veterans Home cemetery.
