Freda L. Schatz, 74, of Sandusky, passed away Thursday, August 3, 2023 at home surrounded by her family after a long battle with Alzheimer's Disease.

She was also employed by Sandusky City Schools as a school bus aide for 17 years, where she enjoyed spoiling her "bus kids" with her famous home-baked cookies. In addition to baking, Freda enjoyed gardening and would spend sunup to sundown in her yard planting flowers and listening to Kenny Rogers.

She is survived by her husband, David; daughter, Nicole Schatz, of Sandusky; son, David Schatz II; grandchildren, Bryan and Alyson Houseman and Danica and Dru Schatz; sister, Mary (Dan) Adams, of Monroe, MI, and brother, David (Cheryl) Dodge, of Buckeye Lake, OH.

Freda was preceded in death by her parents; grandparents, Harold and Freda Crum.

Per Freda's request, there will be no memorial service or visitation. Toft Funeral Home & Crematory, 2001 Columbus Ave., Sandusky, is handling arrangements. Memorial contributions may be made to Stein Hospice or to the Alzheimer's Association. Condolences may be shared online toftfuneralhome.com.
