Janice Louise Jennings, age 76, peacefully entered her heavenly home on Sunday, August 6, 2023 at the Lima Convalescent Home.
Janice was born on September 11, 1946 in Lima, OH to the late Charles and Betty (Myers) Humphreys.
Janice graduated from Columbus Grove High School and was a graduate of Northwestern School of Commerce. She was employed by Rink's, Goodwill Industries and Fazoli's Restaurant. Janice was a member of Vaughnsville Christian Union Church for many years. In her spare time, she enjoyed reading, playing games, and listening to all types of music. She collected bells and coffee mugs, of which she had many. Janice always looked forward to annual vacations with her family and companion of 20 years, Gary, and he preceded her in death five years ago.
Janice is survived by her daughter, Jodi (Danny) Smith of Lima; grandchildren, Ashley (Thomas) Smith, Daniel Smith, Kristina Smith; seven great grandchildren; sisters, Charlene Recker of Lima, OH, Karen (Greg) Griffith of Dublin, OH; brothers, Dennis (Linda) Humphreys of Texas, and Tom (Margaret) Humphreys of Bluffton, OH and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
In addition to her parents, Janice is preceded in death by her husband, John Jennings; son, James Jennings, brother-in-law, Bill Recker and nephew David Clevenger.
Janice's friends and family will fondly remember her as a kind, sweet and caring person, who always had a smile for everyone. The family would like to thank the Lima Convalescent Home for the wonderful care they gave Janice during the many years she lived there.
Private graveside services will be held for her family at Vaughnsville Cemetery, Vaughnsville, OH.
