Anne Elizabeth (Strickfaden) Guendelsberger, 96, residing in Sandusky, passed away of natural causes on Wednesday, August 16, 2023 at Providence Care Center.
Anne was born on March 3, 1927 in Sandusky, OH to the late Sylvan and Helene (Hohler) Strickfaden.
Anne was a 1945 graduate of St. Mary High School and a lifelong member of St. Mary's Catholic Church. She received her R.N. degree from Providence Hospital School of Nursing in the Spring of 1948. In October, she married Bill, the love of her life and they shared over 71 years together.
Anne is survived by her children, Ruth, John (Nese), Joe (Cheryl), Jean (Dan) Horgea, Dave (Linda), Frank (Laurie), Carl (Wendy), Janet (Jim) Mazza, Marie (Dave) Savord, Dan (Susanne); eighteen grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; sister, Ruth Kennedy; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
In addition to her parents, Anne is preceded in death by her husband, William "Bill" Guendelsberger in June of 2020; grandsons, Scott and Eren; sister, Agnes; and brothers, John, Charles and Paul.
A special thanks to the staff of Providence Care Center and Stein Hospice for assisting the family with Anne's care giving.
Friends may call from 9:00 am until the time of Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am on Monday, August 21, 2023 at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 429 Central Ave., Sandusky. Entombment will follow at Calvary Cemetery, Sandusky, OH. The Groff Funeral Homes and Crematory in Sandusky is assisting the family with arrangements.
