Dorothy Floy Knapp Seip, formerly of Bellevue and currently of SEM Haven Assisted Living, Milford, OH passed away Saturday, May 19, 2012.
She was born February 25, 1916 in Shamokin, PA. She was the daughter of Herschel (Harry) Acton and Mary Catherine (Petrichefski) Knapp. She married Wilbur Seip in 1937 in Columbia, IN.
Dorothy was a 1934 graduate of Bellevue High School. She worked in the cafeteria of Bellevue High School. She was an avid bridge player up to the age of 95. Dorothy was a dedicated volunteer at SEM Haven Assisted Living and took care of many of the flower gardens on the grounds. She was a member of E.O. Merry Chapter of Eastern Star, Bellevue and later of the #438 Althea Chapter in Monroeville, OH for over 70 years; St. Paul's United Church of Christ, Bellevue and Bellevue Hospital Auxiliary.
She is survived by two sons, Scott Wilbur (Delaina) Seip, Kenosha, WI and Nelson Herschel (Pam) Seip, Batavia, OH; four grandchildren-Deborah Seip, Staci Seip (Scott) Neville, Eric (Cari) Seip, and Nicholas Seip; 4 great-grandchildren-Noah Neville, Carly Neville, Wyatt Seip, and Graci Seip; one brother Leonard ( Marilyn) W. Knapp of Bellevue, Washington.
She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, three sisters-June Weller, Retha Danalow, Shirley Allen and one brother Lee Knapp.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 23, 2012 from noon until 1 p.m. at St. Paul's United Church of Christ, 428 Kilbourne St., Bellevue, OH 44811. Funeral Services will begin at 1 p.m. with Rev. Diane Carter officiating. Burial will follow in Bellevue Cemetery.
