Robert "Bob" Windnagle, 83, of Norwalk, died Wednesday, September 20, 2023, at Continuing Health Care in Milan.
Born on January 20, 1940 in Sandusky, he was the son of the late Ernest P. and Helen (nee Lamb) Windnagle. Bob proudly served in the United States Army during the Vietnam Conflict.
Following his time in the Army, Bob worked on freighters on Lake Erie, then repairing boats before taking a job with Janesville. He retired in 2006 after 20 years. In life, Bob was most proud of his son, Jeffrey, who died in 2011. He also enjoyed visiting his brother and helping to take care of others. Bob enjoyed collecting music, especially Fred Astair and Gene Kelly. At one time he owned a boat and enjoyed going to Kelly's Island and Put-In-Bay.
Bob is survived by a brother-in-law, Frank Vaccaro and a sister-in-law, Peggy Windnagle, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his son Jeffrey E. Windnagle; siblings, John Windnagle, Walter Windnagle, Earnest Windnagle, Martha Vaccaro, and Marilyn Borgeson.
