Rose Marie (Profeta) Wyatt, 96, of Sandusky, passed away Wednesday, September 20, 2023 at Firelands Regional Medical Center after a brief illness.
Rose was born on August 17, 1927 in Detroit, MI to the late George and Marcella (Palmison) Profeta. She then moved to Sandusky, Ohio were she attended school in the Sandusky School system.
In 1942 She married Donald Wyatt moving to the Sheffield Lake, Ohio in 1955 making lifetime friends there and raising four children.
She was employed by Philco in Sandusky. After moving to Sheffield Lake she was employed as a bartender/waitress at Vians and Bill & Dons. Rose started her own Catering buisness in Sandusky "Rosie's Catering" and took pride in making the food herself for her clients. Rose was a member of Amvets Post 55 becoming the president of the Womens Auxilary and State President of the Womens Auxillary. She was also a member of Post 17 in Sandusky. She was a member of the First Baptist Churches in Sandusky and Norwalk teaching Sunday school to children and adults.
Rose will always be remembered for her beautiful homes, yards, flowers, her homemade italian bread, pizza, spaghetti and meatballs and her love of family and friends.
Rose is survived by her daughters Diane (Nick) Vitale of Vermilion, Barbara Schaffter of Vermilion and Christine Luma of Huron. She is also survived by her sister, Ann (Richard) Hastings of Canton, MI, 8 grandchildren. 18 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
In addition to her parents, Rose is preceded in death by her husband Donald E. Wyatt in 2001, her beloved son, Donald M. Wyatt in 1993, sister, Mary (Henry) Corso in 2020, and son in law, Dennis Luma in 2023.
Friends may call on Saturday September 23rd, 2023 from 10:00 am to the time of funeral service at 11:00 am at Groff Funeral Homes & Crematory, 1607 E. Perkins Ave., Sandusky, Ohio with Pastor John Adams presiding. Burial will follow at Meadow Green Memorial Park in Huron, Ohio.
