Sylvia (Gomez) Smith, 69, residing in Florida and formerly of Sandusky, Ohio, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, September 26, 2023 at Fawcett Memorial Hospital after a lengthy illness.
Sylvia was born on May 4th, 1954 in Sandusky, Ohio.
She was employed and retired at General Motors in Sandusky after 30 years of service. Sylvia was a member of the New Life Church in Sandusky, Ohio. Sylvia loved music, the Red Sox, enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and her dog, Boston, and reading her bible.
Sylvia is survived by her mother, Ophelia Durso of Huron, her daughter Monica Miller of Sandusky, Ohio her son Frankie Miller of Sandusky, Ohio, 4 grandchildren Amanda Yontz of North Carolina, Aaron Yontz of Bellevue, Ohio, Samantha Miller of Sandusky, Ohio, Randi Miller of Sandusky, Ohio, 2 Great-Grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister, Stella (Jeff) West of Eaton, Ohio, 3 brothers, Robert (Kimberly) Gomez of Sandusky, Richard Gomez of Sandusky, Ohio, and Daniel Gomez of Sandusky, Ohio and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
Sylvia was presided in death by her father, Salvadore Gomez, husband, Larry Smith and her grandparents.
Friends may call on Saturday, October 7th, 2023, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at Groff Funeral Homes & Crematory, 1607 E. Perkins Avenue, Sandusky, Ohio. Funeral services will follow at 11:00 am with Pastor Harvey Studer presiding. Entombment will take place at Meadow Green Memorial Park.
