Barbara A. Hickey, age 73, of Norwalk passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 5, 2023, at Twilight Gardens surrounded by her loving family.
Born August 22, 1950, in Amboy, IL to the late Florence Jean (Cruise) Rock and Alvin Glenn, she was one of four children.
Barb and her siblings were raised in Amboy, she then moved to Norwalk where she resided for nearly fifty years.
After moving to Norwalk, Barb met and married her beloved husband, Michael Hickey, on September 3, 1994. She was a cook, working for the VFW and the Eagles, both in Norwalk. Barb was a member of the VFW Auxiliary and American Legion Auxiliary. In her spare time, Barb could be found curled up with a book, as reading was her favorite pastime.
In addition to her husband, Mike, Barb is survived by her adoring children, Laura (Ed) Amos of Columbus, Gina (Jesus) Fabregas of Columbus, and Anna (J.R.) Dover of Carmel, IN; step-children, Greg (Kris) Hickey of Dublin, Steve (Karen) Hickey of Tiffin, and Beth Cordello of Rochester, NY; thirteen grandchildren; and two brothers, Alan (Judy) Glenn of IL, and Gavin (Peggy) Glenn of MO.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Steve Glenn.
Visitation for family and friends will be held on Tuesday, October 10, 2023, from 9:00 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. at the Walker-Eastman-Heydinger Funeral Home, 98 W. Main St., Norwalk, OH 44857. A memorial service will begin immediately following visitation at 10:30 a.m. with Pastor Ed Kovacik Jr. officiating.
