Yvonne E. Henkle, 80, of Sandusky and formerly of Monroeville passed away Tuesday, October 3, 2023, in the Stein Hospice Care Center from complications of an emergency surgery.
She was born May 26, 1943, in Akron, Ohio and was a graduate of Pasadena High School in California.
Yvonne continued her education in California and became a Licensed Practical Nurse. She worked as an LPN for Sierra Madre Nursing Home in California. Her hobbies included historical camping, playing the guitar, and in her earlier years speed skating. She was a member of the Serbian Orthodox Church and attended Trinity Lutheran Church in Monroeville. She was also a member of the Norwalk Lions Club.
She is survived by her husband of twenty-six years, J. Dennis Henkle; one son, Robert Worstall of Flat Rock, Ohio; one daughter, Tanja (Jim) Wechter of Sandusky; stepdaughter, Jillian (Richard) Ahrens of Sagamore Hills, Ohio; four grandchildren, Douglas (Belinda) Kemper, Dr. Kristin (Torry) Kauffman, Desiree (John) Degurski, and Robert Milo Worstall; and several step grandchildren and great grandchildren; and her lifetime friend, Linda (Tom) Waite of Wilmington, Delaware.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Milo and Dorothy (Ristich) Stoyanchul; one daughter, Stephanie Kemper; and one brother, Leroy “Stoney” Stoyanchul.
Friends may call from 2:00 pm – 6: 00 pm on Sunday, October 8, 2023, in the Pfeil Funeral Home, Monroeville Chapel, 109 Monroe Street, Monroeville and on Monday October 9, 2023, from 9:30 am until time of Yvonne’s funeral service at 10:30 am in the Trinity Lutheran Church, 121 W. Broad Street, Monroeville, Ohio 44847. Rev. Dan Pennington and Father John Jorden will officiate. The burial will be held in the Riverside Cemetery, Monroeville.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Trinity Lutheran Church or to the Huron County Humane Society, 246 Woodlawn Avenue, Norwalk, Ohio 44857.
