Ruth Steele, 90, Sandusky, passed away, Sunday, October 8, 2023, in Firelands Health.
She was born in Grindstone, PA on September 20, 1933, to the late Louis and Mary (Trelak) Zasadni, and graduated from Redstone High School.
She was a bookkeeper for several area businesses and spent many years volunteering at the Firelands Hospital gift Shop.
Ruth was a lifetime member of the American Legion Auxiliary, where she worked to honor veterans and support military families up until her passing.
She is survived by her husband, George Roy Steele, Jr., to whom she was married 56 years; children, Dean (Laurie) Henrichsen, Caryl (Michael Routa) Henrichsen, Linda Henrichsen, and Marc (Brenda) Henrichsen; three grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandchild; brother, David Zasadni; nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; first husband, Charles Henrichsen in 1962; grandson, Pat Routa; siblings, Ann Bly, Joseph, John, and Lewis Zasadni.
Friends may call on Saturday, October 14, 2023, from 10:30 A.M. until time of funeral services at 11:30 A.M. in Toft Funeral Home & Crematory, 2001 Columbus Ave., Sandusky. Burial will take place in Meadow Green Memorial Park, Huron.
