Jean D. Krentz, age 94, of Norwalk, passed away peacefully Saturday evening, October 14, 2023, at Gaymont Nursing Center.
She was born February 21, 1929, in Manitowoc, Wisconsin to the late Nicholas and Anna (Schoo) Dondlinger.
She lived in Pittsburgh for many years while working for over 40 years in a women's boutique dress shop in Coraopolis, PA and was an avid and accomplished bowler. After retirement she moved to Norwalk in 2005 to live closer to family and was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church. Her happiest times were spent with family.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Carole and Wayne Babcanec of Norwalk; grandsons, Ben (Dinah) Babcanec of Gahanna, OH and Joe (Lisa) Babcanec of Powell, OH; great-grandchildren, Leo, Stella, Lillian, and Matthew Babcanec; a brother, Leo Dondlinger of WI; sister-in-law, Margaret Krentz of AL; nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, James H. Krentz in 2010; siblings, Theresa H. Taylor, Kathryn Reisterer, Mary Mella, Frank Dondlinger, John Dondlinger, Hilary "Bill" Dondlinger, and Norbert Dondlinger.
A private graveside service will be held at St. Paul Catholic Cemetery. Arrangements entrusted to the Evans Funeral Home, 314 E. Main Street, Norwalk.
