Constance "Connie" J. Kazmaier, 89, of Catawba Island, passed away Thursday, October 19, 2023 at The Meadows at Osborn Park after a lengthy illness.
She was born on July 7, 1934 in Fort Wayne, Indiana to Edward Zelt and Ruth (Fetters) Zelt Surerus.
Connie graduated from Libbey High School in Toledo, class of 1952. She was employed in the travel industry for many years. In her spare time, she enjoyed winters in Marathon, FL; playing tennis, boating, traveling, reading, needlework, and spending time with her family.
Connie is survived by her husband, Karl H. Kazmaier, Sr., whom she married on Dec. 27, 1951; children, Karl H. (Amy) Kazmaier, Jr. and Karen J. (Charles) Smith, both of Sandusky; granddaughters, Amber (Nico) Moreau, Aimee (Tom) Jeffrey, and Aryn (Tim) Davlin; great-grandchildren, Ethan, Kate, Dawson, Taitum, and Mac; brother, George (Judy) Surerus; and nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
In addition to her parents, Connie was preceded in death by her daughter, Kathleen Susan Kazmaier; brother, Don; and sisters, Joanne and Kate.
At Connie's request cremation will take place with no services.
