Paul Owen Ertle, 78, of Sandusky, passed away Thursday, October 19, 2023 at his home after a lengthy illness.
He was born August 27, 1945 in Massillon to Charles and Viola (Rine) Ertle.
Paul graduated from Massillon High School. He was a union bricklayer and owned his own construction company in Massillon, Ertle & Son Construction. In his spare time, he enjoyed working on old cars, fishing, boating, flying both RC and real airplanes, and was a beloved member of Christ Community Church in Sandusky.
Paul is survived by his wife, Donetta "Donnie" (Barrett) Ertle; son, Patrick (April) Ertle; daughter, Ashley (Darrell) Dunbar; 13 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
In addition to his parents, Paul was preceded in death by his children, Paul and Pamela; sisters, Janet and Barbara; and ex-wife, Patricia.
At Paul's request, cremation will take place. Friends and family may visit from 10 a.m. until memorial services begin at 11 a.m. on Saturday, October 28 at Christ Community Church, 2401 Columbus Ave., Sandusky.
