Jack Huntley Pierce, 87, residing in Sandusky, passed away Wednesday, October 25, 2023 at Firelands Regional Medical Center after a lengthy illness.
Jack was born on February 6, 1936 in Salem, Ohio to the late Huntley Pierce and Betty (Baker) Pierce Beck.
He graduated from Salem High School in 1954. He was a Veteran of the United States Air Force who proudly served his country in the late 1950s in the Strategic Air Command as Assistant Crew Chief for the KC97 Air Refueling Tanker. He retired from Crane Deming Pump after over twenty years of service.
Jack was a member of the First Christian Church in Salem, Ohio. He enjoyed building models, model railroading, woodworking, camping, watching war movies, but most of all spending time with his family.
Jack is survived by his wife of 61 years, Carol Beck Pierce; daughters, Leigh Ann (Mark) Delbecq of Galena, and Julie (Keith) Kobasher of Sandusky; sister, Janet Pierce of Fort Myers, FL; grandchildren, Jordan Kobasher, Spencer Kobasher, Jessica Delbecq; and other relatives.
He is preceded in death by his parents and step-parents.
Private family services and burial will take place at Meadow Green Memorial Park in Huron, Ohio. Groff Funeral Homes & Crematory is assisting with the arrangements.
