Clyde A. Butler

Clyde A. Butler, 94, of Wellington, passed away Friday October 27, 2023 at Elms Retirement Home.

He was born on April 15, 1929 in Spencer, Ohio to John and Olive (Freeman) Butler.

Clyde went to school in Wellington, Oh. He was a veteran of the Army who proudly served his country from 1950 to 1952. He was employed as a Machinist at Ridge Tool for 40 years. Clyde was a member of VFW- Wellington, The Eagles, and South Amherst St. John's UCC. He was a Volunteer Fireman for Camden Twp. for many years. In his spare time, he enjoyed Square dancing, travel to everywhere they could go, camping, bowling, and hunting.

He is survived by his wife, Joyce, whom he married on November 22, 1952 and they enjoyed 70 plus years of marriage. He is also survived by his daughter, Cindy Hardwick; sons, Daniel (Candy) Butler of Elyria, OH and Mark (Rebecca) Butler of Birmingham, OH; grandsons, Bradley Hardwick, Matthew (Lisa) Hardwick, Shawn Weaver-Butler; granddaughter, Meghan (Kenneth) DiBiase; 5 great grandchildren; 4 great-great grandchildren as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

In addition to his parents, Clyde was preceded in death by his step-mother, Eleanor Butler; brothers, Paul Butler, Earl (Jurita) Butler and Kenneth (Shirley) Butler and Son-in-law Arnold Hardwick.
