Everline Cook

Everline Cook, 76, residing in Huron, made her transition to glory Sunday, November 5, 2023 at Firelands Regional Medical Center.

She was born January 16, 1947 in Auburn, Alabama to the union of George and Eva Mae (Crawford) Hutchinson.

She was the oldest of four children. Everline was educated in the Lee County school district and was a graduate of Tuskegee Institute High School. She accepted Christ as her personal savior at an early age.

In 1969, Everline was united in holy matrimony to the late King David Cook, and they were blessed with their children, Cynthia Melissa, Omar Jamal, Sheila Renee, Kimberly, Tony, Daryl, and Monica.

She was a supervisor at Renaissance Home in Detroit and also worked as a cook at Cedar Point. She was an excellent homemaker who loved to cook for family and friends in addition to caring for her family and home. An active member of Providence Missionary Baptist Church, she served on the Mother's Board Ministry, was a member of the choir, and loved to sing and read the Bible and other Christian books. Time spent with her family was most precious to her.

Everline leaves to rejoice in many memories, daughters, Cynthia (Tony), of Detroit, Sheila (Charles), Kimberly (Frank); sons, Omar Cook, Tony (Gigi) Floyd, Daryl (Sandy) Floyd; brother, Raheem Abdullah, of Auburn; grandchildren, Omar Marshall, Shanae Marshall, Chantil Cook, Tristin Cook, Raymone Williams, Rayshah Cook, Lakeysha Floyd, Symphony Floyd, and Shantaez and Darylnesia Floyd; great-grandchildren, Omar, Payton, DeAngelo, Karson, Jackson, Alaia, Declan, Ar'Kerria, and Wil'Laysia; and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.

In addition to her parents, Everline was preceded in death by her husband, King David Cook; and brothers, George Hutchinson, Jr. and Melvin Hasan.

Visitation will be from 10 am on Monday, November 13 until funeral services begin at 12 pm Noon at Ebenezer Baptist Church, 1215 Pierce St., Sandusky. Burial will follow in Oakland Cemetery.
