Betty Louise (Hehrer) Bartels, 76, of Castalia, passed away peacefully in the early hours of Friday, June 1, 2012 surrounded by her family at her home.
She was born on July 7, 1935 in Kimball, Ohio. She was a homemaker most of her life, raising her eight children. She then went to work for Rockwell Springs Trout Club until retirement.
She is survived by five children: sons, Tim (Shari) Bartels and Shawn Bartels, both of Monroeville, and Joe Bartels, Sandusky; daughters, Kelly (Ken) Greene, Woodstock, GA, and Kathy Parker, Castalia; 21 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; brothers, Richard Hehrer and Bill Hehrer; and sister, Doris Eschedor.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents, William and Hulda (Dubrunz) Hehrer; son, Daniel Bartels; daughters, Linda Miller and Cherylynn Hanson; 4 great-grandchildren; sisters, Jeannette Hehrer, Helen Stanley, and Ruth Sprowl; and brother, Norman Hehrer.
There will be no visitation. A private service was held at her home with her children.
Toft Funeral Home & Crematory, 2001 Columbus Ave., Sandusky, is assisting the family with arrangements.
