Charles David Jenkins, 77, of Huron passed away peacefully December 3, 2023.
He was born on November 27, 1946, in Port Clinton, and was the son of George Charles Jenkins and Gwendolyn Vilinda Canter.
On June 25, 1966, he married Eileen Marie Knupke in St. John's Lutheran Church.
Charles graduated from Sandusky City School in 1964 and from General Motors Institute in 1970. He retired from New Departure/Delphi after 35 years.
He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Huron. He was a 4-H advisor and enjoyed all the 4-H activities. Charles also coached youth baseball and was a Boy Scout assistant leader. He loved decorating for Christmas, collecting Fenton glass, working on family history, and family get-togethers.
He is survived by the love of his life, Eileen, his daughters, Julie Ann (Delbert) Kyer and Sara Jane (Eric) Matz, his son, David Allan (Kimberly) Jenkins; five grandchildren, Thomas, Kaitlyn, Lauren, Megan, and Christopher; two great-grandchildren, Tanner and Charlie Eileen; and one sister, Cheryl (Ted) Sahley.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Thomas and Anthony.
Friends may call from 12:00 pm until the time of service at 2:00 pm on Thursday, December 7, 2023, in the Pfeil Funeral Home, Sandusky Chapel, 617 Columbus Avenue, Sandusky. Pastor Dave Brown will officiate. The burial will be in Meadow Green Memorial Park, Huron.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to Serving Our Seniors, 310 E. Boalt Street, Sandusky, Ohio 44870.
