Thelma Gahagan, 90, residing in Milan, passed away Monday, December 11, 2023 at after a brief illness.
Thelma was born on June 5, 1933 in Letcher County, KY to the late Roy and June (Bryant) Potter.
Thelma graduated from Dorton High School in Dorton, KY. She moved to the Huron area in the 1950s. She was employed as a produce clerk for Pick-N-Pay for 27 years, and in 1991 she moved to Florida to reside full time. Thelma was a member of the Elks Lodge #2823 in Port St. Lucie West, FL where she volunteered for Hugs Not Drugs, Juvenile Diabetes, Toys for Tots and several other causes. In her spare time, she enjoyed playing golf and tennis.
Thelma is survived by her daughter; Elizabeth (Tom) Pean of Milan, OH, 2 grandchildren; Joseph Likes of Florida and Carrie Brant of Sandusky, 14 great grandchildren; 3 great great grandchildren, and her sister Linda Elkins of St. Petersburg, Florida.
In addition to her parents, Thelma is preceded in death by her husband, Arthur Potter, her twin brothers and one sister.
At her request, a celebration of her life will take place at a later date.
