John Carl Kautz, 77, of Huron, Ohio, passed away on Thursday, December 21, 2023 at home after a lengthy illness.
John was born on December 12, 1946 in Bellevue, OH to the late Donald Kautz Sr. and Marjorie (Smith) Kautz.
John graduated from Sandusky High School in 1963. He was a Veteran of the Army who proudly served his country from January 25, 1966 to January 24, 1968. John retired from Routh Packing after a successful career. John enjoyed woodworking, fishing, but most of all spending time with his friends and family.
John is survived by his wife, Cheryl (Kalies) Kautz. He is also survived by his son, John (Dawn) Kautz Jr of Charlotte, NC; his daughter, Jennifer Hartlage of Sandusky; his six grandchildren, Jacob Kautz, Courtney Hartlage, Austin Kautz, Ryan Hartlage, Ty Compton, and Lucas Compton; his sisters, Peggy (Tom) Armstrong of Perrysburg, OH, and Darlene (Fred) Traband of Ft. Myers, FL.
In addition to his parents, John is preceded in death by his brother, Donald Kautz Jr. and his sister, Patricia Kautz.
Private Family Services will be held and conducted at a later date. Groff Funeral Homes & Crematory will be assisting the family with services.
