Sam L. Adams, age 79, of Monroeville, died Thursday night, July 5, 2012, in Stein Hospice Care Center, Sandusky.
He was born August 11, 1932, in Bellevue, and was employed by Armstrong for over 20 years, retiring in 1979. He was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, Groton Twp., and the Fast Draw Club. He was a U. S. Army Veteran.
Sam is survived by his wife of 5 years, Laureen Adams; one son Sam (Lori) Adams of Bellevue; one daughter Barbara (David) Crooks of Gilbert, AZ; 6 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; one brother Emery (Vera) Adams of Greenwich, OH; step-children Robert and Darlene Schwanger, Dennis and Amy Schwanger, Diane and Greg Smith, Chuck and Penny Schwanger, Kathy (George McCowan) Schwanger, and Don and Bobbi Schaeffer; 10 step-grandchildren; 2 step-great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his first wife Elizabeth in 2001; his parents; several siblings; and step-daughter Linda Schaeffer.
At Sam's request, cremation has taken place. Friends will be received from 10 am Tuesday, July 10, 2012, until time of services at 11 am in St. John's Lutheran Church, Mason Rd., Groton Twp. Pastor Jim Michaels will officiate. Burial will be in Castalia Cemetery.
