Paul Raby, 84, of Temple, Texas, passed away peacefully at Cornerstone Gardens on April 20, 2012.
He was born Nov. 26, 1927, in Lone Mountain, Tenn., son of the late Tilmon and Lola Raby. Paul served in the U.S. Army during World War II and was employed with Ford Motor Company for 30 years retiring in 1982. Paul was also a member of UAW Local 1216 serving as president of the union for approximately 13 years.
Paul and his wife were married for 64 years. Paul enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren. He also enjoyed fishing and hunting.
Paul was preceded in death by a daughter Paula Huppe; his parents; six brothers and one sister.
Paul is survived by his wife Ruth; daughters, Mary Moser and husband David of Bellevue, and Linda Moser of Castalia; sons, Steve Raby and wife Margit of Belton, Texas, and David Raby of Clyde; 11 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Joe Raby and wife Tonya of Sharps Chapel, Tenn., and James Raby of Knoxville, Tenn.; and a sister Nettie Bettsell and husband James of Jonesboro, Ga.
Family and friends will be received at a graveside memorial service on Wednesday, 10 AM, July 18, 2012 in Castalia Cemetery. Ransom Funeral Home, 610 S. Washington St., Castalia is in charge of the arrangements.
