Richard A. Wittmer, 61, of Sandusky, passed away early Tuesday afternoon, July 31, 2012, at home following a courageous battle with cancer. His loving companion, Kimberly Englehart, and brother, Ronald Wittmer, were at his side.
Richard was born in Sandusky, Ohio on November 14, 1950 to the late Eugene and Mary (Lauber) Wittmer.
He attended Sandusky High School and served his country in the U.S. Army.
He enjoyed spending time with Kim, his dog, R.D., his little buddies, Logan and Adysen, and his friends; as well as listening to his music.
He is survived by his brother, Ronald (Jean) Wittmer, Sandusky; his companion, Kimberly Englehart; a niece, nephews and other relatives.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother in infancy.
Friends may call on Friday, August 3, 2012, from 9 A.M. until time of funeral services at 11 A.M. at Toft Funeral Home & Crematory, 2001 Columbus Ave., Sandusky. Burial will follow in Meadow Green Memorial Park, Huron, with the American Legion Post 83 conducting military honors.
