Ralph E. Wurmser, age 85, of Collins, died Wednesday, August 01, 2012 at Fisher-Titus Medical Center in Norwalk.
He was born February 14, 1927 in Findlay, Ohio to the late Charles K. Wurmser and Lena (Schwinn) Wurmser. He served in the US Navy during WWII and was employed with the Ohio Department of Natural Resources, Lyman Boat and retired after 25 years with Ford Motor Co. in Sandusky. He was a member of the Norwalk VFW Post 2743 and Huron Eagle Aerie 2875. He enjoyed building homes in his earlier years, camping, reading, walking and hiking. He and his wife especially enjoyed spending time with their family and camping with SAMS and NCHA organizations.
He is survived by his daughter, Ann (Marc) Yetter of Wakeman; and son, Kevin (Sandy) Wurmser of Milan; grandchildren, Eric Yetter, Jill Bores, Holly Keller, Brad Wurmser, Todd Wurmser and Mandi Miller; and 11 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Wurmser in 2004; and a sister, Marilyn Behrendsen.
A Memorial service will be held at 11:00 A.M. Monday, August 6, 2012 at the Evans Funeral Home, 314 E. Main Street, Norwalk. The Rev. Everett Stoddard, pastor of Collins United Methodist Church, will officiate. Burial with military honors will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery in Norwalk.
