Dorothy E. Miller, age 93, of Sandusky, died Monday night , August 6, 2012, in the Lutheran Memorial Home, Sandusky.
She was born Feb. 7, 1919, in Margaretta Township, and was a 1937 graduate of Margaretta High School, where she was valedictorian of her class. She was a 10 year employee of the former Good Samaritan Hospital, and was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, the Women of the Church, sang in the choir for over 50 years, taught Sunday school, and was a member of the adult bible class. She also played violin with the Trinity Orchestra.
Dorothy is survived by 4 sons Gerald C. (Ileana) Miller of Boca Raton, FL, Melvin H. (Jean) Miller of Port Clinton, Daniel L. (Gwendolyn) Miller of Castalia, and Richard F. (Sheryl) Miller of Castalia; 7 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband Carl F. Miller in 1990; her parents Henry and Anna Benziger; one brother; one daughter Ann Amelia Miller; and two grandchildren Julie Miller and Robert Miller.
Family visitation and graveside services were held today, August 8, 2012. Memorial services will be held in Trinity Lutheran Church, Sandusky at a later date with the Rev. Philip Gardner officiating. Burial was in Castalia Cemetery.
