Melvin (Hutchinson) Hasan, 62, Sandusky, experienced the final chapter of his life come to a close on Sunday, August, 5, 2012 in Stein Hospice Care Center.
He was born on May 14, 1950 to George D. Hutchinson, Sr. and Eva Mae (Crawford) Hutchinson in Auburn, Alabama.
Melvin graduated from Duke High School in Auburn, Alabama, and later graduated from Detroit College of Business with a degree in marketing.
He served his country as an enlisted serviceman in the U.S. Air Force.
Melvin obtained his real estate license in Detroit, MI, and later became a licensed real estate broker. He was a member of the Nation of Islam, Detroit, MI, where he served as a lieutenant. He was a free and fun spirited person, full of life and humor.
Melvin leaves to cherish his memories, his wife of five years, Adele (Gordan) Hasan, to whom he was united in holy matrimony on September 30, 2006; daughters, Tiffany (Carl) Jarrett, Lexington, North Carolina, Chamara Hasan, Maryland, Kameliah Hasan, Detroit, MI, and Marquitta Jones, Columbus, OH; sons, Bernard Bremmer, Holland, and Dhafer Hasan, Detroit, MI; his mother, Eva Mae (Crawford) Hutchinson, Alabama; brother, Raheem Abdullah, Jackson, MI; sister, Everline (Hutchinson) Cook, Sandusky; four special aunts and four special uncles; nine grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; two very special friends, Stanford Strauder and Ned Franklin; and a host of other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, George D. Hutchinson, Sr.; brother, George D. Hutchinson, Jr.; paternal and maternal grandparents; and special brother-in-law, King Cook.
Friends may call on Friday, August 10, 2012, from 9 AM until time of funeral services at 11 AM in Toft Funeral Home & Crematory, 2001 Columbus Ave., Sandusky. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery with the American Legion Post 83 honor guard conducting military honors. Condolences may be shared at www.toftfh.com.
