Johnny D. Rogers Cherry, 48, of Sandusky, was called home to be with his Father on Monday, August 27, 2012 at OSU Medical Center, Columbus.
He was born on October 16, 1963 in Sandusky to Lena M. Cherry and the late Jimmie W. Cherry, Sr.
Johnny was a devoted member of The Salvation Army Church in Norwalk. He was a very outgoing man who loved the outdoors. He also loved cooking and spending time with his family. He was full of life, the rock that kept the family solid, and was loved by everyone.
Johnny leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife of 24 years, Carol (Clemens) Cherry; mother, Lena M. Cherry; daughters, Sharvia, Tiana, Jasmine, and Seasons, all of Sandusky; sons, Johnny (Courtney), Jonteal, Jayden, and Brandon, all of Sandusky; sisters, Estella (Gregory) McKinney, Patricia Hunter, and Debbie Ruffin; brothers, Jimmie (Linda) Cherry, Jr., James (Marcie) Cherry, and Shawn Turner; special niece, Tyjahnae Simmons; long life friend, Jerry McDonald; and a host of grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
In addition to his father, Johnny was preceded in death by sisters, Geraldine Cherry and Francis "Cookie" Wright.
Friends may call on Tuesday, September 4, 2012 from 12:00 (noon) until time of funeral services at 1:00 P.M. at Eagle's Nest Church, 2126 Pipe St., Sandusky.
