Jay B. Matter 56, Sandusky, died on Thursday, September 27, 2012, at his residence, unexpectedly.
He was born on December 19, 1955 in Sandusky.
Jay was a U.S. Marine veteran, serving during the Vietnam War.
He loved to fish, garden and was an all around handyman.
He is survived by his children, Jessie Durso, Christine Matter, Leon Matter, and Charlotte Matter; three grandchildren; sisters, Irene Matter, Dale Pierce, and Tina Hall; brother, Guy Matter; former wife, Barb Matter; and several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Leon R. and Lillian (Vandermark) Matter; and a brother, Hy Matter in infancy.
Friends may call on Monday, October 1, 2012, from 3-5 P.M. in Toft Funeral Home & Crematory, 2001 Columbus Ave., Sandusky.
