Betty Charlotte (Pollard) Houseman

Betty Charlotte (Pollard) Houseman, 70, of Sandusky, passed away on Thursday afternoon, September 27, 2012 in Stein Hospice Care Center after an extended illness.
She was born on September 3, 1942 in Portsmouth, Ohio to the late James and Lesie (Lute) Pollard.

Betty was a caregiver, homemaker, wife, and mother. She loved collecting, listening to music, making crafts, and joking and laughing. Her cooking brought the whole family together.

Betty is survived by her husband, Max Houseman, whom she married on July 5, 1992; children, Sharon (Kim) Testa, of Port Clinton, Don (Hutchinson) Airey, of IL, Woody (Barb) Hutchinson, Bobby (Marvel) Hutchinson, Mary Jane (Gerald) Crayton, and Shane Grimm, all of Sandusky, and Scott Grimm, of Port Clinton; numerous grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Karen (Hutchinson) Cornell, in 1993; and brothers, Harold, Milfred, Mansford, and "Peanut" Pollard.

Friends may call on Tuesday, October 2, 2012 from 11 A.M. until time of funeral services at noon in Toft Funeral Home & Crematory, 2001 Columbus Ave., Sandusky. Stein Hospice Chaplain, Melvin Sayler will officiate. Burial will follow in Elliston Cemetery, Benton Twp.
