Velma K. (Potts) Scherley age 83 of Bellevue Passed away Monday Oct. 8, 2012 at the Bellevue Care Center. She was born Dec. 29, 1928 in Fostoria the daughter of the late Earl & Evelyn (Rohm) Potts.
Velma was a homemaker. Mrs. Scherley was a member of St. Gaspar del Bufalo Church, the Altar Society, former member of Reed Assumption Church and enjoyed working word puzzles. She married Urban Scherley, Sr. April 24, 1948 in Bellevue, he survives in Bellevue.
In addition to her husband she is survived by her sons; Urban(Pat) Scherley Jr. of Bellevue, Donald (Sue) Scherley of Bellevue, daughters; Barb Miller of Bellevue, Geraldine (Louis) Niedermier of New Washington, 13 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, brothers; Dean Potts of Flat Rock, Robert Potts of Bellevue, Charles(Marie) Potts of Bellevue, sisters; Dorothy Sweat of Charleston, SC, Evelyn (James) Andrews of Bellevue, Shirley Mowery of Florida, Sue Graffice of Bellevue, Ruth (Ted) Warner of Bellevue and Janice Parks of Bellevue.
In addition to her parent she is preceded in death by Siblings: Jeannette Stout and Mildred Niver, Emory Potts, Ione Tidd, Eleanor Auble and Marian M. Scherley along with an infant grandson.
Friends will be received on Wednesday, October 10, 2012 from2-8PM at Foos and Foos Funeral Service, 151 Yorkshire Place, Bellevue, where funeral services will be held on Thursday, October 11, 2012 at 11:00AM. Burial will follow at Reed Assumption Cemetery.
