Charles A. "Red" Morfier Jr., 89, of Bellevue passed away, Monday, October 8, 2012 at Extended Family Care, Bellevue.

He was born February 8, 1923 in Bellevue, Ohio the son of Charles Allen, Sr. and Gertrude Elizabeth (Gover) Morfier.

Red worked at Johnson Furnace in Bellevue and then retired from Thomas Steel where he worked as a welder. He was a lifetime member of VFW Post 1238, a lifetime member of Bellevue Elks Lodge 1013, and a member of Bellevue Eagles Aerie 490. He participated in multiple blood donations totaling more than 21 gallons. He was an avid fan of the Cleveland Indians and Cleveland Browns, and enjoyed fishing, playing cards, and jigsaw puzzles.

He is survived by his loving wife, Edith (Monarchi) whom he married October 31, 1953 in Bellevue. One daughter, Becky (Duane "Chip") Stahl of Holland, Ohio; daughter-in-law, Kathy Morfier of Bellevue; 3 grandchildren, Abbey (Stahl) Cymbola of Liberty Center, Ohio, Joseph Stahl of Toledo, Ohio, and Andrew Morfier of Bellevue; great grandchild, Mathew Cymbola of Liberty Center; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his son, Chuck Morfier, III in 2007, and sister, Charlene (Joe) Morris in 2012.

Friends will be received on Sunday, October 14, 2012 from Noon until a service begins at 4 p.m. at Foos & Foos Funeral Service, 151 Yorkshire Place, Bellevue. The Elks Memorial Service will be held at 3 pm.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Extended Family Care, 754 W. Main Street, Bellevue; Stein Hospice, 1200 Sycamore Line, Sandusky, Ohio 44870 or Immaculate Conception Church, 231 E. Center Street, Bellevue.
