Cora Anne "Corky" (Roth) Neill, 72, of Castalia, passed away on Monday afternoon, October 22, 2012 in Stein Hospice Care Center after a lengthy illness.
She was born on December 11, 1939 in Sandusky to the late Francis "Frank" and Louise (Townsend) Roth. She attended Sandusky High School and obtained her G.E.D. in 1989.
Corky enjoyed boating, fishing, traveling, and cruises. Earlier in life, she was on several bowling leagues. After two "practice" marriages that produced five awesome children, Corky found out that the third time was truly the charm when she married her high school sweetheart, Thomas G. "Tom" Neill, Jr. They were married on Valentine's Day in 1998. Following the death of her daughter, Mary, Corky legally adopted her granddaughter, Amanda Neill, of New Bern, N.C. In the past several years, she enjoyed traveling with Tom. They visited her children, various casinos, and took cruises together. The highlight of her life was being a mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Family was most important to her.
Corky is survived by her husband of 14 years, Tom; children, Tomi (Chris) Mayer, of College Station, TX, Scott Cambra, of Virginia Beach, Virginia, and Francis "Pat" (Cindy) Cambra, of Sandusky; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; brothers, Gary (Rena) Roth, of Celina, OH, and Todd (Donna) Roth and Neil Roth, both of Sandusky; and numerous cousins and friends.
She was preceded in death by her son, Thomas Kramer, in 1957; daughter, Mary Cambra, in 1983; father in 1963; and mother in 1996.
The family would like to give their sincere thanks to Dr. Brian Murphy and the staff of North Coast Cancer, and to Stein Hospice Service for their exceptional care of Cora during her brief time with them.
At Corky's request, there will be no visitation. Cremation will take place in Toft Funeral Home & Crematory, 2001 Columbus Ave., Sandusky.
