Janet Ruth Kent Lemelin, 71, a long-time resident of the San Diego area, died Tuesday the 16th of October surround by her loved ones.
Born February 12, 1941 in Sandusky, Ohio, Janet graduated from Sandusky High School in 1959. After high school Janet enlisted in the United States Navy as a Radioman. Her life long passion for communications led Janet to positions at the Sandusky Register, the San Diego Union Tribune and completed her career at the Las Vegas Review Journal. She held an Associate Degree from San Diego City College.
Janet raised her family in the San Diego area and after living in Henderson, NV and Michigan she returned to San Diego to be with her family.
She loved to travel, read books, and lived life to its fullest. Janet had both a smile and personality that could light up a room. She faced all life's obstacles and challenges with dignity and strength.
Janet was preceded in death by her loving parents James and Dorothy Kent of Sandusky, Ohio.
She is survived by her children, Joseph Lemelin and Barbara Lemelin of San Diego CA, Sisters, Dorothy Matsel (Pontiac, MI) and Marilyn Chisholm and fiance' Gary Robinson (Henderson, NV), Brothers, James (Sharon) Kent (Sandusky, OH) and Jack (Ruth) Kent (Sandusky, OH), 2 aunts, Corine Wendell (Lake Havasu, AZ) and Marilyn Knoll (North Fairfield, OH), 6 nieces and nephews, 17 great nieces and nephews and numerous cousins.
Friends may call Saturday, November 10, 2012 from 3:00pm until time of memorial service at 5:30 pm at Pfeil Funeral Home, Sandusky Chapel, 617 Columbus Ave, Sandusky, Ohio.
