Rev. Clyde W. Brogan, age 93, of Norwalk, passed away Friday, November16, 2012 at Twilight Gardens Home.
He was born December 27, 1918 in Alliance, OH to the late Ross W. Brogan and Daisy Evelyn (Manypenny) Brogan. He was a graduate of Sebring High School in 1937, Bryan College, Dayton, TN in 1944 and Dallas Theological Seminary in 1947. He was in active ministry for over 40 years: as a pastor, and church planter. He also taught at Oak Hills Bible College in Minnesota for six years, and was a member of the IFCA International in Grand Rapids, MI. He was the director of Wisconsin Church Extension and started 14 churches. He lived in Wisconsin many years and moved to Norwalk in 1998. He enjoyed spending time with ministry, family and friends, and was a writer.
He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Frances A. (Reed) Brogan of Norwalk; children, Larry D. Brogan of St. Paul, MN, Patricia G. Dunn of Corpus Christie, TX, Daniel L. Brogan of Birmingham, AL and Janice L. Snyder of Norwalk; 12 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren; sister; Lois Jane Campbell of Canton, OH; nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, sister, Betty Gillam and brothers, Claude Brogan and Claire Brogan, both of Youngstown.
Friends may call on Monday from 4:00 - 7:00 P.M. at the Evans Funeral Home, 314 E. Main Street, Norwalk. A memorial service will be held Tuesday at 11:00 A.M. at the Calvary Baptist Church with the Rev. James McClain officiating. Private interment will be held at North Fairfield Cemetery.
