Carolyn J. Burley, 82, of Norwalk, Ohio, died Saturday evening, November 24, 2012 in her daughters home in Willard, Ohio. She was born September 18, 1930 in Willard, Ohio to the late Arthur L. and Lucille M. (Hatcher) Alt.
Carolyn was a 1948 graduate of Willard High School and had lived in Huron County most of her life. She was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church, the Women of St. Paul, was a member of the St. Paul Funeral Luncheon Committee, and was also a member of the Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Study Club.
Carolyn is survived by her loving children, Kenneth and Dyan Richards of Albuquerque, New Mexico, Kathleen and Roger Holman of Fostoria, Ohio, Janet Richards of Berea, Ohio, Pauline Richards of Willard, Ohio, Patricia and Randy Sipp of Willard, Ohio, with whom she made her home, and Theresa Wilde of Norwalk, Ohio. She is also survived by her daughter in law, Patty Richards of Norwalk, Ohio and by her sisters and brother in law, Barbara and Albert Raimonde of Westerville, Ohio and Mary Ann Crain of Westerville, Ohio, 15 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, 6 step children in Missouri and Kansas, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Carolyn is also survived by her sisters and brothers in law, Joanne Jenck of Milan, Ohio, Tom Burley of Milan, Ohio, Larry and Diane Koch of Norwalk, Ohio, Rodney Burley of Huron, Ohio, and John Burley of Kalamazoo, Michigan, and by her pet of 12 years, Frankie the cat. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Burley in 2001, by her son, John Richards in 2001, by her brothers, James Alt and Robert "Butch" Alt, and by two great grandsons, Ayden and Anderson Ames.
Friends may call on Wednesday, November 28,2012 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in Walker Funeral Home, 98 West Main Street, Norwalk, Ohio. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, November 29, 2012 at 10:30 a.m. in St. Paul Catholic Church, 91 East Main Street, Norwalk, Ohio. Rev. Frank Kehres will officiate. Interment will be in St. Paul Cemetery.
