Delos "Dee" O. Woodward, age 92, of Norwalk, passed away Wednesday, December 05, 2012 at Stein Hospice Care Center in Sandusky.
He was born November 19, 1920 in Norwalk and was a lifelong resident. He graduated in 1938 from Norwalk High School and was a life member of the First Presbyterian Church in Norwalk, where he served as a former Trustee. He served in the US Army for three years in the 94th Infantry Division of the 319th Medical Battalion, and was awarded the medical combat badge.
He and his wife, Pauline, owned and operated the Credit Bureau of Norwalk until 1980. He was also employed by Kubach-Smith Funeral Home in Norwalk from 1957 until 1994 as a funeral assistant and ambulance driver.
He is survived by his daughters, Dee Anne (David) Webber of Cleveland and Charlene M. Mohr of Norwalk; sons, Timothy D. Woodward of Norwalk and Stewart E. (Cindy) Woodward of Lakewood; seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, M. Pauline "Polly" (Eckstein) Woodward in 2002; parents, Charles and Bessie (Hazard) Woodward; sisters, Elizabeth "Bette" Isele, Mary Signs and Ruth Crawford; brothers, Oliver and Richard Woodward; and a daughter, Bonita Hadamuscin.
Friends may call on Friday from 5:00 - 7:00 P.M. at the Evans Funeral Home, 314 E. Main Street, Norwalk. A funeral service will be held Saturday at 11:00 A.M. in the funeral home. The Rev. Adrian N. Doll, pastor of the First Presbyterian Church, will officiate. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery.
