Harold R. Knott, Sr. (Paratrooper), 80, of Norwalk, Ohio, passed away peacefully Wednesday, December 5, 2012 at the Stein Hospice Care Center, Sandusky, Ohio.
He was a member of the Armed Forces 82nd Airborne Division. Harold worked for Zeiter Trucking for many years.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Virginia, by a son, Ronald Knott, by an infant son, Hal Curtis Knott, both of Norwalk, Sisters, Juanita (Cunningham) Caskey, of Norwalk, Evelyn (Jenkins) Jackson of Norwalk, and Shirley (Gurrero) Carmona of Bonita Springs, Florida.
He is survived by 2 sons, Harold Knott Jr. of New London, Ohio and Albert Knott of Norwalk, Ohio, 2 daughters, Lela (Knott) Gaietto of Tiffin, Ohio and Kim (Knott) Ratliff of Norwalk, Ohio, numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
He is also survived by his brothers, Edwin Knott of Wakeman, Ohio, Franklin Knott of Wakeman, Ohio, and Alan Knott of Norwalk, Ohio and by his sisters, Roberta (Morrow) Terrell of Norwalk, Ohio and Nina (Knott) Prushinski of Greenwich, Ohio.
Friends may call on Sunday, December 9, 2012 from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. in Walker Funeral Home, 98 West Main Street, Norwalk, Ohio where funeral services will be held on Monday, December 10, 2012 at 10:30 a.m. Rev. Roger Fitzwater will officiate. Interment with military honors will be in Woodlawn Cemetery.
